Super Rally, So Help Me by Michael David Murphy
A few weeks ago, I was out walking Ollie and looked up to see McCain on a TV playing inside the bar on my corner. My stomach tightened a little, and I felt tense and disappointed and yes, a little bit embarrassed that this man was seriously being considered to lead our country. Then it occurred to me that if I'd looked up and seen Obama on the TV, I would have been happy and proud. And I wondered: what it be like if that was how I felt every time I saw our president on TV? I'm really glad that I'm going to get to find out.

I think a lot of what you are feeling has a lot to do with your expectation and the potential you see in Obama. We won't have a chance to reap that potential if we wait for him to make any changes. We have to embrace the ideals we have and "become the change we want to see in the world".
