Stumps by Eliot Shepard. (Bigger is more better.)
Ever the instigator, The Soth* asks: Where are all the great photos on Flickr?
I love this one from Mr. Eliot Shepard, who's recently begun shooting with (*gasp!*) film. More Eliot:

*I do appreciate how people mostly play nice in comments over there.

I didnt participate in the discussion on Alec Soths blog entry, because usually I dont have the time and energy to stay in this for a long time ;)
But I have read your posts there and wanted to tell you I share exactly the same opinion. There are so many people dealing in so many different ways with fotography, it just not fair to condemn it for the people using it as a piccie-sharing site.
For me, flickr was the reason to start doing photography after neglecting it for over 10 years again. Besides the many family/party/car/vacation/... pictures, there are always a lot which leave me speechless and thrilled, making me grabbing my camera, going out and look at the world as a (amateur) photographer (or at least try to). I really like flickr for that. A lot.
I found your gallery via flickr too. And Alecs Blog. And Joerg Colbergs. And so much more... so I dont mind the large percentage of un-great photos, as long as there are still the really good ones and the ideas how to make them.
Cheers, Robert
