Opening Tonight: Nina Berman’s Purple Hearts

Please join us tonight, Wednesday August 8th, from 6pm-8pm at a reception for photographer Nina Berman:

This special limited engagement exhibition of Purple Hearts, a series of portraits and interviews with U.S. soldiers who have been injured in Iraq, will be on view through August 30th.
Signed copies of Berman’s book Purple Hearts will be available at the opening and throughout the exhibition, and Ms. Berman will be at the opening to answer questions and informally discuss her work.
Berman’s Marine Wedding was recently on view at the gallery as part of the Spring Edition of Hey, Hot Shot!.

I’m interested in the idea of the men being at the opening and reacting to the body as a whole…hmmmmm. Hope it’s a great opening, the work is just as courageous as the men.
