We're in the process of de-installing the lovely Amy Ross exhibition and are working amidst boxes and boxes of work that's arrived for the Spring Edition of Hey, Hot Shot!. (Opening on Wednesday, the 13th!)
A location scout from the tabloid-iest of the Law & Order franchises, SVU, came by this morning - they're looking for a gallery to use as a location next week. I think we'll be busy installing A New American Portrait, but I bet the gallery would look good on TV. (Were it Criminal Intent, I'd be tempted to shuffle things around a bit - Vincent D'Onofrio is my one and only celebrity crush.)
Anyway, some reading material for y'all:
- Lens Culture has a excellent report on the party in Paris for Alec's Fashion Magazine. The Jeu De Paume was all abuzz with Alec Soth adoration (but of course!) I can't wait to get my hands on Paris Minnesota. There's also a recap from a local Parisian for my French speaking readers, all five of you.
- The Hungry Hyaena, a blog about "art, conservation, ecology and philosophy," has a nice review of the Amy Ross show.
- Jeffrey Ladd, is writing a blog about photography books. (Jeff co-curated a group show with me here @ the jb the first Summer I was open - Made in NY - and also had a solo exhibition here later that year.)
As for me, I'm getting ready to get the hell out of dodge. I'm off to pick up my car (a glamorous 1987 Volvo wagon), pack up the Otter and head up north for some country living. (And hopefully some delicious pie.)
