Now For Some GOOD News

Amy Ross’s Goat Magnolia 5 , recently editioned over on Tiny Showcase*
As mentioned in my 20×200 announcement post last week, I wrote a column for the new issue of GOOD Magazine about buying affordable art online. It’s now available for your online reading pleasure. This is one of my favorite parts:
These $20 prints are the gateway drug of the art world. Once your new acquisition has found its rightful place in your home, you’ll be hungry for more. If you forego the newest version of the iPod or wait until those gorgeous boots go on sale, you can add original works and larger prints to your burgeoning collection with the money you save. Or, if you’re looking to channel your inner Medici, you could take $200 and commission an original drawing by someone like “Punk Art King†Gary Panter, who will make a six inch by eight inch ink drawing based on any three words that you provide.
It’s not linked up, so for your convenience, here’s a list of links to sites that I mentioned:
Curated Selections:
Tiny Showcase
Pretty Darn Swell
Original Art:
Obsessive Consumption by Kate Bingaman-Burt
Gary Panter
Good Resources for Pointers:
Apartment Therapy
design*sponge
We Heart Prints
The Amy Ross edition above sold out over on Tiny Showcase in three minutes. (Literally.) Her show opens at the gallery next Friday, so come see it in person if you’re here in NYC!
