Greetings from Los Angeles

I’m very excited to be here in Los Angeles. My schedule is filling up with loads of cool stuff – PhotoLA offers a lot of interesting programming including presentations by blogstar Alec Soth (I could be mistaken, but I think he takes some photos once in a while too) and cultural force Mary Virginia Swanson. There’s also a great seminar being offered by the newly (and expertly, I might say) re-branded Center (formerly the Santa Fe Center for Photography) geared towards photographers interested in breaking into the fine art market.
Also on my cultural to-do list:
The aforementioned Amy Bennett exhibition @ Richard Heller, as well as a reception for Todd Hido at Rose Gallery.
Lunch plans with a Hustler and a filmmaker and some friends.
The Saul Bass exhibition at the The Skirball (So! totally! excited!) followed by a visit to the The Getty.
I’m also hoping to squeeze a visit in to the Griffith Observatory and about a million and one other things. I’ll keep you posted on how I do with all that.
