When Wednesday is Like Monday
Regular gallery hours are Wednesday through Saturday from Noon - 6pm (This might sound luxurious, but consider that I worked solidly all day Monday and Tuesday and only left the house to walk my patient pooch.)
One of the byproducts of this schedule is that I often get a second dose of that Monday-blues feeling on Wednesdays. Today that’s especially the case. I walked up to discover that the plate glass window of the gallery had been hit with graffiti again. Someone scratched an indecipherable tag into the window in August. I’m glad I didn’t go to the (enormous) expense of replacing it because this new hit is acid-etching and while the tag is smaller (and also indecipherable) it’s a lot more noticable. I either need to convert the window into an art project or replace it entirely.
I forgot all about the window once I walked in to the backroom. The leak, which I have been warring with my landlord over for eons, is back with a vengance. I can hear rushing water and there’s a puddle on the floor. Fortunately nothing terribly valuable is damaged, but it’s a huge hassle and the whole issue has been incredibly time-consuming, stressful and messy.
So, yea, this Wednesday feels an awful lot like a Monday. Boo.
